The three-minute song in Tamil, Bangla and Hindi with passionate lyrics, vibrant choreography and performances introduces the show ‘Yeh Mera India’, which debuts on the channel from August 15 this year.
Choreographed by Feroz Khan, the anthem sung by Meet Brothers, Shibani Kashyap and Neha Bhasin is directed by Vishal Punjabi.
Commemorating the 69th year of India’s Independence, the month-long show seeks to take viewers on an exotic journey, to explore some rarely seen and endangered wildlife of the country.
“It’s a musical tribute to the independence of animals,” Manmeet Singh of Meet Brothers’ said.

The Party in the Jungle theme for the anthem described as both sensational and celebratory.
“The soundtrack is designed to match the progressive state of mind of today’s youth,” said fellow Meet Brother composer, Harmeet Singh.

The show provides insights into how some of the endangered animals like the elephant, the guar (Indian bison), the Nilgiri Tahr, the sambhar (the largest of Indian deer), abound in the lush forests are vulnerable owing to urban development, habitat destruction and poaching.

Works of renowned conservationists and experts like Valmik Thapar, Ullas Karanth, Jeremy Wade, Steve Backshall, and Niall McCann, who have been exploring and supporting the conservation of wildlife in the country will be projected in the show.

ANIMAL PLANET LAUNCHES YEH MERA INDIA
-Lesle Lewis and singers Shaan, Mathangi, Monali dedicate an anthem to Yeh Mera India–
New Delhi: Commemorating the 66th year of India’s Independence, Animal Planet will celebrate country’s incredible wildlife and natural diversity through a month-long programming slot YEH MERA INDIA. Starting 15th August, every night at 8 pm, the special programming line-up will rejoices the country’s iconic and enchanting wildlife, epic landscapes and colourful natural beauty. To mark the celebration, Animal Planet will also launch YEH MERA INDIA Anthem, a three minute multi-lingual song, composed and performed by renowned music personalities like Lesle Lewis, Shaan, Mathangi and Monali.
Airing every night at 8 pm on Animal Planet, from August 15 to September 15, YEH MERA INDIA is a dedicated one-hour slot which will take viewers on an enthralling journey through India, from the epic Himalayan Mountains, down the mighty River Ganges, and across to the lost world of the North East, to explore its iconic wildlife, secret locations and exotic terrains.
YEH MERA INDIA Anthem is a tribute to the fantastic wildlife of India which will fascinate the youth of India. Composed by one of India’s finest music composers Lesle Lewis, the anthem is sung by leading singers: Shaan – one of the most versatile singers in Indian film industry; Mathangi – a promising singer from Tamil Nadu; and Monali – an upcoming star from West Bengal; who have lend their voice to epitomise and celebrate the exuberance of India’s rich wildlife. This high-energy anthem cheers for the spirit of freedom in three most widely spoken languages of the country: Hindi, Tamil and Bangla, blending music and visuals most artistically. A contemporary track, YEH MERA INDIA Anthem has captivating lyrics and intriguing illustrations of Indian flora and fauna, peppered with performance of artists. All of these elements are combined to engage viewers and keep them glued to the screen.
Announcing the launch of YEH MERA INDIA, Rahul Johri, senior vice president & general manager – South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific said, “India has snow-capped mountains, deserts, forests, wetlands and fertile plains, and its climate ranges from temperate to tropical monsoon. YEH MERA INDIA is an initiative to celebrate the country’s natural world enriched with varied environments and unique wildlife.
